Media: Israel thwarted Syria's attempts to resume the chemical weapons program

Israeli warplanes attacked facilities in Syria where chemical weapons were stored.

This was reported by The Washington Post.

According to the publication, US intelligence sources said the attack was carried out on June 8.

Appropriate action was taken after Israel received intelligence about Damascus' attempts to restart the import program for the ingredient used for the production of sarin.

Sources also added that this was not Israel's only attack. Similar measures were taken on March 5, 2020. The attack was aimed at an object located near Homs.

Later, the former head of the Shabak, Avi Dichter, denied information about the Israeli attacks.
