Media: Israel and PA decide to reduce tension

Israel reaches agreement with Palestinians to delay “unilateral action” for several months to ease tensions during the holy month of Ramadan.

Walla reports citing two Israeli sources.

According to them, the agreements were reached under strong pressure from the US. According to the publication, the PA will temporarily withdraw its proposal to hold a vote in the UN Security Council against the expansion of Israeli settlements. Instead, the members of the Security Council are preparing a symbolic statement that has no force.

It will include condemnation of settlement building and the recent Palestinian terrorist attacks against Israelis.

Jerusalem has pledged for several months postpone the approval of additional construction in the settlements, as well as the planned demolitions of houses, the eviction of Palestinians. Israel also allegedly pledged to reduce the intensity of the IDF raids.
