According to IDF, the car was “engaged in repair work” near the Palestinian city of Jalama.
In June, the Ministry of Defense began upgrading a section of the fence in northern Judea and Samaria after Palestinians who illegally entered Israel earlier in the year carried out a series of deadly terrorist attacks.
No one was hurt in Tuesday's attack, although the vehicle was damaged and about 40 spent shell casings were found at the scene.
The IDF said they were looking for suspects.
In raids in the wee hours of Tuesday, soldiers arrested five wanted Palestinians, with violent incidents in some areas, the IDF said.
