Lithuania: Russia cannot participate in the Olympics until the end of the war in Ukraine

The Lithuanian Parliament called on the International Olympic Committee and other sports organizations to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from competing until the end of the war in Ukraine.

Lithuanian parliamentarians said that any victories of Russian or Belarusian athletes at the Olympic Games and other events will be used for propaganda purposes by Moscow and Minsk. 109 deputies of the Seimas of Lithuania voted for the relevant resolution.
“The Seimas adopted a resolution addressed to the parliaments of all countries of the world and proposing to express their clear and decisive disagreement with any proposals, initiatives, projects and any other actions aimed at admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials to participate in the Olympic Games or any other international competitions”, — said in a statement.
