Lion cub found in apartment in central Israel

MAHAV detectives and inspectors from the Israel Nature and Parks Authority on Wednesday discovered a lion cub illegally kept in an apartment in central Israel after the animal appeared on a series of Tik Tok videos and a number of other social networks.

The lion cub, nicknamed “Abu Malek”, is believed to have been illegally sold on several occasions.

Police said as a result of an undercover investigation that included “technical means and advanced investigative operations”. ;, officers found an apartment in the center of Israel where the animal was kept and took it into custody.

The lion cub was examined by inspectors from the Nature and Parks Authority and provided with the necessary veterinary care.
