Lightning struck the Eiffel Tower in Paris

French photographer Bertrand Kulik posted on Twitter on Saturday a series of photographs capturing the moment lightning struck the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Bertrand reported that Lightning struck the tower several times.

The official website of the Eiffel Tower reported that this was not a rare occurrence. Since 1889, lightning strikes the tower about 5 times a year.

The site emphasized that lightning does not harm the tower and does not pose a danger to the population.

It is worth noting that that the entire Île-de-France was placed on the orange list this Saturday until Sunday 4:00 pm due to the vagaries of the weather, which can be accompanied by heavy rain and severe storms with wind and hail.
