Israeli TV Channel 12 reports that the Shabas Liberation Commission this week was to consider a petition for the early release of Palestinian terrorist Nasser Abu Hamid, who was found guilty of killing seven Israelis.
Hamid is one of the co-founders of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades. He was sentenced to seven life sentences.
Hamid's lawyers demand his release “on humanitarian grounds”. and “due to ill health”.
Hamid's hearing was postponed at the request of the families of the terrorist victims, Binyamin and Tali Kahan and Gadi Rajuan.
The organization's lawyer, Khoninu Ofir Steiner, acting on behalf of the families, said: The court sentenced him to seven life sentences, plus another 50 years in prison. The position of the court is quite unambiguous – such a person must be kept in isolation from society. We will do anything to prevent the release of this killer”.
