League of Legends animated series Arcane to be released on Netflix on November 7 – Gaming – News
The first chapter of the upcoming League of Legends Arcane animated series will hit Netflix on November 6. The streaming service will announce this during its Badum event. The company also shows a new trailer.
Netflix and Riot Games will release the first episodes of Arcane immediately after the League of Legends Worlds final, writes VentureBeat. The series consists of three acts, each consisting of three separate episodes. The first act will appear on November 7 at 3:00 am Dutch time. The second act will be released a week later, on November 13, and the third act will be released on the streaming service on November 20.
Riot Games already announced the arrival of League of Legends Arcane in 2019, when the series was slated for a 2020 release. however postponed to 2021, because of the corona pandemic. The series is animated by the French Fortiche Productions. That company previously made short League of Legends animations for Riot Games.
Arcane is set in the ‘utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed, underground Zaun,’ Netflix wrote earlier this year a trailer on youtube. The series is said to follow the origins of two League of Legends champions, and “the power that will tear them apart.” Several champions from the LoL franchise are featured in the series, including Vi and Jinx, voiced by Hailee Steinfeld and Katie Leung respectively.
More game series are planned on Netflix in the near future. Next year, series based on Sonic the Hedgehog on Cyberpunk 2077 and there are also Splinter Cell-, Assassin’s Creed– on Tomb Raiderseries in the making. Earlier this year there was already a Dota 2 anime series on Netflix.
