An American actor, Richard Belzer, who began his career in the entertainment industry as a stand-up comedian, has died in France at the age of 79.
This was told by his close friend , Writer and Emmy Award Winner Bill Sheft in a commentary to The Hollywood Reporter.
“He had a lot of health problems,” Sheft said.
Remarkably, he had health problems for a long time . Back in 1984, Belzer was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He began acting actively in television series in the 90s. His most memorable and famous role was detective John Munch, who was a character in Homicide. Later, the staff appeared in episodes of other series, including the cult X-Files.
In 1999, the detective became a regular character on one of the offshoots of Law & Order, which he has been to the present. Munch became the most “long-lived” character of American television series.
