Large scale sewage spill in California: beaches closed

Large-scale California wastewater spill: beaches closed

On Friday, in the Californian city of Long Beach, all swimming areas on the beaches were closed due to a massive sewage spill.

Into the Dominguez Canal 7.6-15 million liters of untreated water, which flows into the harbor of Los Angeles, was released.

The leak occurred in the city of Carson due to the failure of the sewer main. Swimming on the beaches is prohibited until the level of water pollution returns to normal.
