Prime Minister Yair Lapid assessed the security situation amid threats from Islamic Jihad. He announced this on the morning of August 4. Defense Minister Benny Gantz attended the meeting. “We discussed the security situation in the south and the steps needed to keep the area safe. We will have another situational assessment later,” Lapid said.
