Legendary singer Marta Kubišová celebrated her 79th birthday with her loved ones on Monday. The icon of the Czech music scene was included in the messages and letters by fans a few days before the anniversary. And on Monday, a number of colleagues from the industry joined them.

It’s not just flowers that make the singer literally overwhelmed now. He is already afraid of what will come in a year. “I’m already celebrating 14 days, I started getting pictures from fans, then photos for signing and a lot of letters,” Marta Kubišová explained.

“Now my daughter told me we were really leaving for our 80th birthday,” the favorite singer joked. And a number of colleagues rushed with congratulations. “I would like to wish Marta Kubišová a lot of health and a lot of love,” said singer Lucie Bílá.

“Of course, I would like to wish her all the best from her heart. I adore her voice, and she is also a symbol of moral purity for me,” added singer Hana Zagorová to the congratulators.

Václav Neckář, with whom she sang with Helena Vondráčková in the Golden Kids trio, also joined with wishes. Coincidentally, the group was formed on her birthday.

Although the Golden Kids group was a phenomenal success, it only functioned for about a year and a half. Since 1970, the communist regime has banned Marta Kubišová from performing. The singer returned to the stage only with the Velvet Revolution.

Although she sang dozens of songs during her life, the one she sang in November 1989 on Wenceslas Square is most connected with her.
