Today, November 18, with the participation of public figures, representatives of the academic community, cultural and educational workers, ANU will host a unique cultural event & mdash; conference “ Know my people. ''
On the agenda & mdash; discussion of the issue of underrepresentation of the heritage of Russian-speaking Jewry in the public space of the State of Israel.
The conference was initiated by the Millions Lobby; לובי המיליון and is supported by the Genesis Foundation, the Jewish Federation of San Francisco, the Nadav Foundation, the Jacob Herzog Center, the Hartman Institute, the Hillel organizations and Ma'alot. The organizers aim to change the approach to Russian-speaking culture and its heritage, to create conditions under which the heritage of Russian-speaking Jewry, history and culture will become an integral part of the daily life of Israelis. At the conference, within the framework of lectures and seminars, various questions will be raised regarding four main topics & mdash; history, literature, civil law and Jewish-Israeli culture. At the end of the event, a final document will be issued, which will become the basis for interaction with the Ministry of Education, academic institutions and the Ministry of Culture.
