 KKL-JNF will take part in the climate summit as part of the Israeli delegation

The non-governmental organization KKL-JNF will take part in the 27th UN Summit on Climate Change in Sharm El Sheikh COP27. The official Israeli delegation includes experts from the Jewish National Fund. They will present their cutting-edge technologies, as well as integrated research in forestry, reservoirs and agriculture, as part of a massive effort to overcome the climate crisis. "Keren Kayemet LeIsrael" – The Jewish National Fund provides participating countries and organizations with extensive knowledge and cutting-edge technology. In addition, delegates will showcase the collaboration that the foundation maintains with organizations and countries around the world. Since 2007, KKL-JNF has been participating in the summit as part of the official Israeli delegation, and in 2009 the foundation became an official member of the UN Climate Change Forum as an observer organization. During the conference, KKL-JNF members, along with officials from other countries, will give lectures on fighting forest fires and present advanced systems for detecting and preventing fires that damage nature in hot areas with little rainfall. Also, representatives of KKL-JNF, led by Chief Forester Dr. Gilad Ostrovsky, will present long-term plans to reduce and prevent forest fires on a national scale. At another event, the Jewish National Fund will present the integrated work being done by forestry operations to conserve and restore degraded agricultural land in the northern Negev, as well as the opportunities being used for urban forestry as a solution to climate and environmental change. Among other things, KKL-JNF, the Government of the Republic of Chad and the international organization CABI will give lectures on cooperation for the exchange of knowledge and the development of technologies in agriculture and water management. In addition, KKL-JNF, in collaboration with EcoOcean, will present its activities in Israel in the areas of semi-arid agriculture, water clean-up, and sustainable forest planting techniques for the conservation and development of biodiversity. Innovative methods of pest control and storage of small seeds to improve the environment will also be presented.
