American actor Joaquin Phoenix may appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a villain.
GFR, citing a trusted source, reports that the actor has personally met with head of Marvel Kevin Feige and discussed the terms of the contract. He may play the antagonist in Doctor Strange 3.
No further details yet, but it is speculated that Phoenix could play either Mephisto or Doctor Doom.
