 A Jew was shot near a synagogue in Los Angeles

The incident took place around 10 a.m. Wednesday outside a synagogue in the predominantly Orthodox Jewish Pico Robertson neighborhood in Los Angeles. The victim was taken to the hospital and released the same day.

The suspect, an Asian male, is still at large. A spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department said the victim was walking towards his car when the suspect driving the vehicle approached him and fired two shots.

It is not known if the department is investigating the incident as a hate crime.

The Anti-Defamation League issued a statement condemning the attack.
