A Jew killed in France in an alleged anti-Semitic attack will be buried tonight in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba, where his family lives.
34-year-old Eyal Haddad was killed by his Muslim neighbor, with whom he lived in the same apartment. The killer surrendered to the police and indicated the location of the victim's body.
Haddad was originally from Djerba, Tunisia and was an Israeli citizen.
Minister for Diaspora Affairs Nachman Shai urged France to take decisive action against the rise of anti-Semitism.
“I urge the French authorities to bring the murderer to justice and pronounce the most severe sentence,” — Shai says, noting that “a number of horrific anti-Semitic attacks have been carried out on French Jews in recent months.”
