The Planning and Building Committee has approved the Menachem Begin Jerusalem Highway Pavement Plan for review over objections. According to Globes, it will provide physical access from Beit HaKerem to Givat Ram and areas that are currently cut off from each other. The plan will include a 14.25-acre park without vehicles but with convenient pedestrian access between neighborhoods. It also provides for the creation of 52.75 acres of new land along the 1 mile highway from Beit Interchange to Wolfson Bridge, extensive parkland and open space. The plans include the construction of 2,300 housing units, 250 sheltered housing units, 380 hotel rooms and 46,000 square meters of commercial and office space.
