Against the background of the deplorable employment situation for the Arab population of East Jerusalem, the Ministry of Jerusalem Affairs is launching a pilot program to train the Arab population of the capital for further work in the public sector – the municipality and state-owned companies.
The program will be implemented by the Yesodot Center and will initially provide practical training for 60-70 participants from East Jerusalem.
The training will include meetings with people working in the public and social sectors, familiarization with platforms and skills applicable to the public sector, as well as the study of basic issues relating to the population of Israel, with an emphasis on the history and culture of various groups in Israeli society.
P The program will run for three years and will cost approximately NIS 1 million. Participants will first receive group training lasting several months and then gain work experience in public institutions with individualized personalized coaching. At the end of the training period, participants will be immediately placed in public enterprises.
