Japan to commission Israeli and American strike UAVs

Japan's Ministry of Defense wants to put Israeli and American-made strike drones into operation on an experimental basis. It is reported by The Yomiuri Shimbun. Drones will be introduced in 2023 to units of the Self-Defense Forces to strengthen the defense of the remote Nansei Islands. We are talking about the Israeli Harop and the American Switchblade. From 2025, Japan plans to deploy hundreds of strike UAVs, including those of its own production. It is clarified that the Japanese military is interested in drones that can be used in real combat, and not just for surveillance and intelligence gathering.
