Japan tackles the effects of record snowfalls

In Japan, snow continues to rage for more than a week.
On December 26, more than 100 domestic flights were canceled in the country.
flights are expected to be delayed. According to Kyodo, 68 centimeters of snow fell in Shiga Prefecture and 71 centimeters in Hyogo Prefecture. Forecasters say this is a record amount of precipitation.

As of Wednesday morning, utilities are diligently trying to address the effects of snowfall. Snowblowers are working at full capacity. Electricians are trying to restore electricity to de-energized houses.
