The founder of the Hasidic sect “Shuvu Banim” Rabbi Eliezer Berland, previously accused of sex crimes and involvement in the murder, was not allowed into Ukraine, where thousands of pilgrims went to celebrate Rosh Hashanah in Uman. According to Israeli media, the reason for the refusal was caused by pressure from the Breslav communities and comments by the rabbi himself to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He, in particular, spoke out against Ukraine and its president in light of the Russian invasion.
