“The mental structure of every inhabitant of the country will be shocked. We foresee an increase in the incidence of suicide in society and the formation of severe mental crises. – said in the appeal of experts. Among the signatories of the letter: Dr. Zvi Fischel, former chairman of the Israel Psychiatric Association.

“There is no person in the country who could remain indifferent to such a political earthquake,” says the letter, signed by the directors of departments, departments and psychiatric clinics. "Someone will react earlier, someone later, but the mental structure of every inhabitant of the country will be shocked. Internal reactions will force people to pack up and leave for other countries. Others will close in their homes and develop reactions of anxiety and depression. Extraverted reactions, which are more visible to the eye, include reactions of anger and violence among various circles, who feel that everything is now allowed with the support of the government – including fits of rage and hurting other people.

The letter, entitled “Stop the Government Quake,” was signed, among others, by the former chairman of the Israeli Psychiatric Association, Dr. Zvi Fischel, as well as dozens of other experts in the field. “We have thousands of years of combined experience in the field of psychiatry. There is no body in Israel that knows more than we do about the consequences of various crises for the mental stability of people. We are still dealing with the psychic consequences of the corona epidemic, and this will continue for generations to come”.
