 Israeli Olympic Computer Science team wins gold medal

Soon after the Israeli scientific teams achieved outstanding results at the international olympiads in physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology, it was the turn to “join the battle”; team in computer science. The guys did not disappoint and won 4 medals – one gold, two silver and one bronze.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and the Center for Scientists of the Future. The team's achievements were announced at a reception hosted today (Tuesday) by the Minister of Education, Dr. Yifat Shasha-Biton, in honor of all the members of the Israeli scientific teams who participated in the international Olympiads this summer. In total, the young people brought 4 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze medals to Israel.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Yifat Shasha-Biton, said at the event: “We are very proud of your amazing achievements in the international Olympiads. Your path, dedication, perseverance and willpower that you all have shown is just as important and impressive as your accomplishments. We are doing everything in our power to ensure that the educational system provides you and all students with all the necessary tools for further development and success in all areas.
Dr. Shimshon Shoshani, Chair of the Center for Future Scholars: “Israeli students have demonstrated outstanding ability in the International Science Olympiads this summer, and have achieved outstanding results both at the personal and national levels. We are proud of you and express our gratitude. These teenagers are a symbol of wonderful and talented youth.
The Center for Future Scholars will continue to work with the Ministry of Education and universities to provide cutting-edge education and the highest quality tools to Israeli students.
Director General of the Ministry of Education, Dalit Stauber: “The achievements of our students are the result of perseverance, dedication, talent and intensive support from first-class professional trainers. I congratulate our students on their impressive results and wish them to continue to advance Israeli science.”
Professor Arie Tsaban, President of Bar-Ilan University (where the computer science team was trained): “The future of the State of Israel lies in the hands of this talented group of young people. In addition to their abilities, they strive to develop and reach new heights. We are proud of them and the fact that they are preparing for the international scientific Olympiad in Informatics at our university.
