Israeli fined for attacking police officer in UAE

< p>

A local court in Abu Dhabi (UAE) on Thursday fined Nahman Gabai, an Israeli citizen, 65,000 dirhams (about 58,000 shekels), who is accused of attacking police officers at the airport.

The decision on the fine was made after the court ruled not to imprison the Israeli, but to deport him from the UAE. This is reported by the Jerusalem Post.

The verdict was handed down earlier in the week, but the release was delayed until Gabai's family raised money. The man will return to Israel.
