Electric vehicle fast charging systems developed by Israeli company Zooz Power will appear in the US and Europe, according to the Times of Israel.
The principle of the system is simple: it takes energy from the network and converts it into kinetic energy by rotating the wheels. When the car arrives for recharging, the rotation slows down, the kinetic energy is converted into electrical energy and fed into the vehicle's battery. At the same time, the intensity is so high that the charge lasts only about 15 minutes.
Using physics rather than chemistry, the kinetic charger avoids environmental problems such as massive water use and pollution associated with lithium mining.< br />
Five Zooster-100 units will be installed in five commercial and entertainment centers in Germany. The company is at an advanced stage of European patent registration. The company hopes to start rolling out in Germany by the end of the year.
Two pilot projects are also planned for early next year in the US, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and near Miami.
In addition, Israel's first Zooz Power charger will be installed at the Dor Alon gas station in Segul towards the end of this year.
