According to Ynet, Amir Yahya Mabuh from Jabalia suffered from a congenital heart defect that could lead to to heart failure. The family doctor diagnosed the child with a congenital defect due to a blockage in one of the arteries.

The doctor told the boy's family about the Save a Child's Heart Foundation, which helps transport children from Gaza to Israel for vital procedures.

“We were delighted to hear about this option. Everyone in Gaza says that Israeli doctors are the most professional in the world and you can rely on them,” the boy's mother said.

On Sunday, the boy underwent surgery at the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon.

“The operation lasted three hours, and the child is currently recovering in the pediatric intensive care unit,” the hospital said.
