Israeli athlete Asaf Yasur won the title of world champion in taekwondo among the Paralympians. The Israeli Taekwondo Federation reports about it.
The World Championship was held in Istanbul (Turkey). Asaf Yasur competed in the weight category up to 58 kilograms. On his way to victory, he defeated five competitors from different countries.
As a teenager, Yasur lost both his arms to an electric shock. After the tragedy, he underwent heavy operations and, having recovered, took up sports.
Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid congratulated Asaf Yasur on his Facebook.
“Asaf is not only a huge national pride for our country, but also a reminder that willpower can lead you to the highest peaks, “wrote Lapid.
