45 ICU beds will be added to Israeli hospitals across the country.
This was agreed upon by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz and Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman.
The ministers' decision must be put into effect immediately.
The decision was taken due to overcrowding in hospitals amid the outbreak of the Omicron coronavirus strain.
“The health care system works around the clock, day and night to protect the health of the population. We are aware of the pressure and are working to help and strengthen the healthcare system,” Bennett said.
