The Israeli government press service is opening today an initial Hebrew course for foreign journalists. The course is held in conjunction with the World Zionist Organization, The Times of Israel reports.

It is noted that the courses will last three months. They are attended by 20 reporters and photographers, including Arab and Turkish journalists.

According to the government press service, course participants will also learn about Israeli culture.

” “We have seen that language gaps sometimes affect journalists' reporting. The initiative, which we are launching for the first time, is able to close these gaps, enable foreign journalists to get acquainted with Israeli culture without intermediaries and indirectly strengthen Israel's position in the world,” said the director of the press service Government Nitzan Chen.
