Israel: fourth dose against Omicron not so good
|An Israeli study of the fourth dose of the vaccine against the Omicron strain showed that the vaccine works well against the Alfa and Delta strains, but not so with Omicron.
Professor Gili Regev-Yochai of Sheba Medical Center, a leading infectious disease expert at the hospital, says: “We are seeing an increase in antibodies, higher than after the third dose, but we are also seeing an increase in Omicron infections who have received the fourth dose of the vaccine. There are many infections”.
The professor says that the fourth vaccine, obviously, should be given to those who are at particular risk. However, the current recommendations should already have been changed to include only the older age group.
