Israel accused of 'negligence' over death of Palestinian prisoner

On the morning of September 3, Palestinian prisoner Musa Haroun Abu Mahamed died at the Assaf Arofe Israeli Medical Center. According to the International Middle East Media Center, his family held Israel responsible for the “sudden deterioration in his health.” It is alleged that Mahamed suffered from a mental disorder and had no chronic illnesses. Doctors told the prisoner's father on August 21 that he had been hospitalized on August 7 in critical condition. Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) Holds Israel 'Full Responsibility' for his death and accused the authorities of “medical malpractice”. His body was handed over to his family for burial. The IDF detained Mahamed in June 2021 as he was heading to Jerusalem. He did not have permission to enter Israel.
