Iran did not enrich uranium above 60% purity

IAEA inspectors are investigating how Iran managed to enrich uranium to 84%, which almost corresponds to the creation of a nuclear weapon, writes Bloomberg.

“The International Nuclear Energy Agency is trying to establish how Iran accumulated 84% enriched uranium – the highest rate found in the country. This level is only 6% below that required for nuclear weapons”, – The article notes.

Agency inspectors must now determine whether Iran deliberately enriched the uranium, or if such a concentration turned out to be unintentional accumulation in the pipe network. However, this is the second time in the past month that observers have shown suspicious activity related to uranium enrichment.

At the same time, a senior Iranian official assures that Iran has not enriched uranium above 60% purity.
