Indian minister arrested in 'alcohol' case

Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister in the Government of Delhi, was arrested by India's Federal Crime Agency (CBI) late Sunday night and will face trial today.
Sisodia arrested in an ongoing investigation into “a case involving alleged irregularities in the design and implementation of excise policies,” the CBI said.
Sisodia Party, Aam Aadmi Party, a staunch critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, denies any wrongdoing on his behalf and claims his arrest is political retaliation by the Modi government.
Sisodia is also one of the leaders of the party and has helped spread its influence to other states as the party seeks to wrest control over prime minister Narendra Modi Bharatiya Janata's party in the upcoming elections as key states.
