 India shortens COVID vaccination interval

India has reduced the interval between the second and third (booster) doses of the coronavirus vaccine from nine months to six months.

BBC reports.< br />
The decision was made on the advice of a government expert committee.

To date, India has administered 48 million booster doses, which is only about 5% of the population eligible for a third dose.

Since vaccination began in January 2021, the country has administered more than 1.98 billion doses.
