The Russian media began to disseminate information about the detention of a Russian from Moscow named Oleg. It is reported that he is the owner of the Nexta news channel and is going to be tried for “calls for terrorism”.

According to Russian media, the security forces became interested in the channel from mid-March last year due to publications and after almost a year Oleg S., 27, was contacted. The detainee faces up to 7 years in prison. The Russian security forces are sure that it is Oleg who owns the SIM card on the number of which the Nexta channel is registered.

Nexta has published a message stating that there are no channel employees either in Russia or in Belarus. For security reasons, employees do not even visit these countries. In addition, there are no citizens of the Russian Federation in the team.

Regarding Oleg S., who was caught by the Russians, the channel has two versions:

1. This is a fictional character that the Russian security forces invented to get ” asterisk” for “completing a task” without making any effort.
2. Oleg S. really exists, but he became a victim of lawlessness, which is sewn with false accusations.
