A 7-year-old girl suffered a cardiac arrest in Rehovot

Minutes before Shabbat last Friday, a family called an ambulance when their 7-year-old daughter collapsed after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest in Rehovot.

It is reported that the first to arrive at the call were the volunteers of “Hatsaly” Golan Levy and Yair Biezuner. Prior to their arrival, the girl's family had been desperately trying to revive her. Volunteers, quickly assessing the situation, provided emergency assistance: they performed artificial respiration and used a defibrillator.

“She received two shocks from the defibrillator. After the third shock, she woke up, but then her pulse disappeared again,” Golan said.

Ten minutes later, the United Hatzalah volunteers were joined by several more resuscitators, who connected a heart monitor and began to inject drugs. The doctors had to apply the defibrillator four more times before the girl's pulse stabilized.

Then the child was taken to the hospital, Yair stayed with the girl's younger siblings until members of the Hatzaly unit arrived on the scene. on trauma and crisis response.

Reflecting on the incident, the volunteer said, “I feel like we got heavenly help to save this little girl. Moments before the call came in, I had finished caring for the victims of a car accident and for some reason decided to park my ambucycle right at the gate of my house, which I usually don't do. It saved me precious seconds. Not to mention, ambucycles are an incredible technique. They helped us save this girl's life and prevent her brain from starving her brain for too long. I get goosebumps when I talk about it".
