Chinese geneticists have bred a special kind of carp without small bones in the meat. Biologists from the Heilongjiang River Fisheries Research Institute at the Chinese Academy of Fisheries Sciences have bred a new species.

Xinhua News Agency reports. Researchers have found a key gene responsible for the specified structural feature of the fish. After editing it, offspring were born that could develop normally in water bodies.
