On the evening of February 21, a 40-year-old woman died as a result of domestic violence in Ashdod.

Medics arrived at the call when she was still alive and urgently took her to the hospital Asuta in Ashdod and severe injuries all over her body.

“When we arrived at the scene, we were taken to an apartment in a residential building, we saw a woman lying unconscious and with bruises on her body. We treated her, which included stopping the bleeding, bandaging and administering medication, and evacuated her to the intensive care unit when she was in critical condition,” the MDA said.

The hospital later said that A woman who suffered from domestic violence died from her injuries. As it became known, her cohabitant beat her with a hammer. He immediately fled the scene, but was soon detained.

“Recently, the Israeli police received a report about a woman who is in serious condition. It is suspected that her injuries were caused by a blunt object. Police officers in Ashdod were called to the scene and detained a man suspected of involvement in the incident,” the police said in a statement.
