In Argentina – the invasion of beetles
The Argentine city of Santa Isabel in the province of La Pampa suffered from an invasion of thousands of beetles.

According to the Deputy Mayor of Santa Isabel, the city has been dark for the past three days. This was supposed to allow the bugs to “find another city”.
Turning off the lights proved to be an effective method, and the number of bugs was drastically reduced.
The bugs are said to have caused damage houses and transport, seized parks and gardens. They are not dangerous to humans, but residents of Santa Isabel have been advised to cover their faces to avoid being hit by the bugs.
