 IDF to engage dog handlers in disaster relief

The Israel Canine Unit will work with IDF rescue teams to help victims of building collapses or other disasters.

IDU Israel Canine Unit, a non-profit organization specializing in search and rescue missions, met with senior IDF Home Front Command officials this week to demonstrate various emergency response capabilities and promote the organization's inclusion in Israel's disaster response systems.

At the meeting, volunteers and their dogs demonstrated , among other things, searching for missing people inside collapsed buildings.
