The Israeli army announces the closure of border crossings between Israel, Judea and Samaria and Gaza during the holiday Purim this week.

Closing will begin on Monday, March 2 at 5:00 pm and will last until Wednesday, March 8 at 11:59 pm.

However, The Israel Defense Forces says border crossings for Palestinians will reopen on Thursday “depending on assessment of the situation”.

The decision is standard practice during festivals and holidays, which the military says is preventive measure against attacks during this time, which is seen as a period of heightened tension.

Exceptions will be made during the upcoming closure for humanitarian and other outstanding cases, but this will require the approval of the coordinator of the activities of the government of the Ministry of Defense in the territories.
