Israeli forces on Friday evening detained a Palestinian suspected of planting a homemade bomb on a bus in Beitar Ill Ilit on Thursday evening.

A joint statement from the Shin Bet, the IDF and the police said the suspect, along with four others who allegedly assisted him in the attack attempt, were arrested in the Palestinian village of Battir in Judea and Samaria.< br />
On Thursday night, the military searched the town of Beitar Illit after an improvised explosive device was found on the bus.

Police sappers safely defused the IED. No one was injured in the incident.

The IDF said they were provided with “accurate intelligence information”. from the Shin Bet on the whereabouts of the suspect.

The IDF added that the soldiers also seized a car believed to have been used by the suspects in the attack.

All five were transferred to the Shin Bet for further interrogation.
