Bocelli — an outstanding Italian singer, today is one of the world's best-selling musicians. The circulation of his albums exceeds 90 million. It is no coincidence that he is called a performer, “looking into the soul”, having lost his sight, the artist found the strength to do what he loves.
The future star was born in 1958 in the Tuscan village of Lajatico, not far from Pisa. No one in his family had musical talents, his parents were simple farmers. As a child, Bocelli developed eye disease rapidly. The boy's eyesight was constantly falling and he had to undergo operations, and at 12, after a soccer ball unsuccessfully hit him in the head, the boy was completely blind.
His father wanted to give him a profession, so Andrea trained as a lawyer, but music has always remained his passion. He took vocal lessons from a local maestro and did not give up his dream of singing not only in bars, but also on the professional stage.
Nevertheless, fame came to the Italian tenor rather late. Bocelli's breakthrough year was 1992 — it was then that he was first noticed by Luciano Pavarotti. At that time he was over 35 years old. Interestingly, after the death of Pavarotti in 2007, Bocelli got the prefix A.R. in specialized magazines. — after Pavarotti as recognition of his talent.
In 1999, Bocelli sang The Prayer with Celine Dionhit, for which he received the Golden Globe Awards. In recent years, Bocelli has been recording tracks with Ariadna Grande, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran. And the most touching and soulful duets were recorded by Andrea with his son Matteo, also a professional singer. Together in Israel they will perform the song Fall on me.
