Huawei will build its own microelectronics factory

The Chinese company Huawei will build a plant to manufacture Kirin 9006C chips. This move was intended to offset the impact of US sanctions against the tech giant. The chip will be an eight-core, 5-nm process technology with a core speed of 3.13 GHz.

The construction of the Huawei factory will be assisted by SMIC, the largest chip manufacturer in China.

The Chinese authorities have also allocated significant funds to Huawei to solve the problem with the chips. By 2025, China plans to start its own production of various electronic components.

In addition to Huawei, funds will be received by Alibaba Group, SenseTime Group Ltd. and other companies.
