The HUAWEI Watch 3 Pro smart watch on the HarmonyOS proprietary operating system has finally appeared on sale. The Huawei Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro are the standard bearers to show the world what devices Huawei can build on its own.

Features of the Watch 3 Pro
Huawei offers the Watch 3 in two variants, but uses different materials for them. Test unit – Huawei Watch 3 Pro Classic Edition. The high quality titanium case with ceramic interior is 45 x 49.6 x 14 mm (~ 1.77 x 1.95 x 0.55 inches). AMOLED has a diagonal of 1.43 inches on both and the same resolution of 466 x 466 pixels.

The battery of the Watch 3 Pro is stronger than the Watch 3 (450 mAh) with 790 mAh, and therefore lasts longer … Watch 3 connects to navigation satellite systems GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou, and Watch 3 Pro additionally with QZSS.

Huawei uses a dual-chip architecture to be able to improve performance and consume little power under normal use.

2GB main memory, 16GB data storage. Like its predecessors, the latest Huawei Watch has speakers and a microphone.
Another big plus of the novelty is & mdash; eSIM with LTE support, the Watch 3 Pro has no rivals in this.

Huawei also added a temperature sensor to the Watch 3 Pro for health monitoring. The watch also has a dual-band GPS module, which is not so common even on flagship smartphones, let alone wearable devices.
Control of Huawei Watch 3 Pro is carried out using the touch screen and two side buttons. The top pivots like a crown and makes it easy to scroll through menus and workout logs and set alarms.

Harmony OS with App Gallery

The Huawei Watch 3 Pro has the new Huawei Harmony OS 2.0 operating system. However, the interface looks familiar. As with its predecessors, the Huawei Health app is required for setup. For iOS, just download it from the App Store. On Android smartphones, it is easiest to install the Huawei App Gallery first and then use it to install the Health app.

In the Health app, if you want, you can activate eSIM and Bluetooth off, and configure parameters for health monitoring. In addition, it is easier to select a watch face through the app. The Watch is preloaded with 30 watch faces, some with custom complications. More can be downloaded from the Huawei Watch Face Store or created from a photo.

Preloaded tools include alarm clock, stopwatch, compass, barometer and voice recorder. Other apps can be downloaded through the Huawei App Gallery. It will probably take some time, and App Gallery will be able to compete with Apple and WearOS stores. According to Huawei, the watch supports mobile payments in conjunction with the Stocard app, which is also available in the store.

Personal trainer on the wrist

The Watch 3 Pro can measure blood oxygen levels and body temperature, monitor sleep quality, stress levels and the wearer's heart rate. All information is conveniently displayed in the Health app.

Despite its classic look, the watch has many fitness features. It is very convenient that the device itself already has a list of workouts for both beginners and experienced athletes. Only for running there are 13 different loads available, and the total number exceeds 100, and the owner's activities are determined automatically. Among the exercises are swimming, cycling, skiing, snowboarding, triathlon and a dozen more modes. The software tracks the pulse at the moment, and also writes a track using the built-in GPS module.

In terms of changing the operating system, HUAWEI Watch 3 Pro turned out to be revolutionary, the watch is made of high quality premium materials, look great, show excellent performance and offer even redundant functionality & mdash; there are not many smartphones on HarmonyOS yet, and work with other OS is not ideal. What's more, its GPS performance is one of the best wearable devices have ever seen. What's more, the fitness features are impressive considering it's not a dedicated sports watch.
