Huawei MatePad T10: entry-level tablet for family use

Huawei has added many tablets to its MatePad lineup for different age groups. The HUAWEI MatePad T 10 features a 9.7-inch HD display that fits perfectly into its stylish design. With its lightweight and compact design, you can use your favorite apps, play games and watch videos while immersing yourself in content anywhere, anytime.

Presentation

Inside the MatePad T10 is the Kirin 710A chipset with an eight-core processor. This allows the tablet to efficiently perform a variety of tasks with high performance. The EMUI 10.1 user interface works with the chipset at the same time, providing an intuitive and simple experience. Quality of life features such as Huawei App Multiplier use landscape orientation to offer a smart split screen for a single app, while Dark Mode allows users to read more comfortably in the dark.

Camera

The MatePad T10 has two cameras: a 5MP autofocus camera on the back and a 2MP fixed focal length selfie camera. Photo modes include Pro, Panorama, HDR, Beauty, Sync and more.

Gaming

The MatePad T10 is powered by the HiSilicon Krin 710A chipset. Running multiple applications can affect performance as it only has 2GB of RAM. But this tablet can play quite well some of the best mobile games to date, such as Mobile Legends, Asphalt 9, Clash Royale and Call of Duty: Mobile.

Features

The Huawei MatePad T10 also deserves credit for its many family viewing apps like Kids Corner, where parents can customize the tablet for their kids. Kids Corner includes apps such as voice recorder, camera, children's drawings and multimedia (a safe area where parents can share photos and videos with their kids). In the settings menu, parents can download more apps for their children, as well as set time limits for them.

When it comes to child safety, the Kids Corner (Kids section) has a T & Uuml; V Rheinland certified Eye Comfort mode that protects your children's eyes. Plus, posture and bumpy road warnings alert kids to adjust to healthy tablet use, and they can even pause the session if the child isn't physically adapting. Finally, e-book mode allows the tablet to customize colors and simulate the look of paper to help children read.

Design

The MatePad T10 comes in Deep Blue, just like its siblings, the MatePad T8 and MatePad. It feels luxurious to the touch, however, the plastic border at the top belies that. The T10 weighs about 450 g and is curved for an ergonomic grip.

This latest entry-level tablet features a 9.7-inch HD 16:10 display with thick bezels. It offers different screen settings depending on the application being used, such as e-book mode to make the screen black and white, and Eye Comfort, which is certified by TUV Rheinland to reduce harmful blue light. On the sides of the tablet are two speakers that emit quality sound enhanced by Huawei's Histen 6.1 software. In addition, the speakers provide support for 9.1ch 3D surround sound, bass boost and additional configuration options to customize your sound.

Bass sound reproduction was impressive for its price point, but the treble was not as crystal clear and can be distorted at times.

OS/UI

The MatePad T10 runs Android 10 It does not have Google Mobile Services, but uses Huawei's own Mobile Services (HMS) instead. Instead, the much-needed app can be downloaded from Huawei's app gallery.

Battery

The MatePad T10's 5100mAh batteries combined with a 5V/1A charger took 2 hours to reach 50% and a total of just over 4 hours for a full charge. The Huawei MatePad has about the same charging time. The tablet lasted for 3 days with minimal to moderate use.

Conclusion

The price of the MatePad T10 does not differ from its brother MatePad T8 with an 8-inch screen, while the T10 equipped with a 10-inch screen and a more advanced processor. Overall, with screen size, Kirin 710A processor, impressive sound, it surpasses its price point.
