It is specified that 11.6% of all holders of health insurance policies in Israel have been vaccinated. Compared to the same period last year, 13.1% were vaccinated. Thus, from the beginning of October to November 12, 215 patients hospitalized with influenza were registered, of which 86 were hospitalized in the last week. As of November 14, the percentage of vaccinated among all insured in different age groups: 65 years and older – 46.3%; 55-64 years old – 18.9%; 5-12 years – 6.5%. “The Ministry of Health urges the population to get vaccinated against influenza, especially men and women 65 years of age and older, as well as people from risk groups. The ministry reminds that influenza can be prevented by vaccination, provided that the vaccine is given at least two weeks before infection. The vaccine is recommended from six months of age and older,” the message says.
