How Hamas Funds Terror in Judea and Samaria and Turkey: Scheme Revealed

The IDF and the Shin Bet prevented a terrorist financing scheme used by Hamas by recruiting Gazans who entered Israel for humanitarian reasons or with work permits, as well as by recruiting student activists at Birzeit University in Judea and Samaria.

This is reported by the Jerusalem Post, citing a statement by IDF spokesman Avichai Adrai.

The terrorist movement used a funding scheme to transfer funds from Gaza to Hamas members in Turkey and to finance terrorist activities in Judea and Samaria, and in Turkey.

A group of student activists from Birzeit University were arrested after they were caught with credit cards that were used to transfer legitimate funds from the Hamas leadership in Gaza to Hamas officials in Turkey.

The money was smuggled out of Gaza through people who entered Israel for humanitarian reasons or to look for work. The students then withdrew funds from ATMs in Ramallah and used them for terrorist purposes, including funding Hamas activists.
