ASUS ROG Phone 2 can hardly be called a camera phone
ASUS ROG Phone 2 is positioned primarily as a gaming smartphone. But this did not prevent the experts popular resource DxOMark test the camera capabilities of the flagship device. Find out what is the verdict of experts of the portal!
The device is equipped with dual primary camera with a 48-megapixel main sensor Sony IMX586 (f / 1.79) and the auxiliary sensor 13 MP with ultrasonometry lens.

Among the advantages of the module when taking photos, the experts noted fast autofocus, good exposure indoors and outdoors, correct the white balance in the premises, as well as high-quality blur effect.
Of the shortcomings – incorrect white balance in outdoor environments, shear exposure, doubling of the image when shooting action scenes, incorrect display textures, and visible artifacts when shooting with a zoom, incorrect color reproduction and digital noise when shooting at wide angle.
When recording video, the experts highly appreciated the effective image stabilization outdoors, quality details when shooting in indoor and outdoor applications and quick and accurate autofocus performance. Of the downsides noted that the lack of exposure on the street, a noticeable “shift frame”, especially when shooting indoors is not quite the correct color and unstable white balance when shooting in all conditions, as well as noticeable noise on moving objects.
As a result, the smartphone scored 95 points. And although the model is in the upper half of the overall ranking, its recording quality is inferior to some flagships and specialized camera phones.
